Zusammenfassung

Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt alle derzeit gängigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten für die Feinnadelpunktion (FNP) mit und ohne bildgebende Unterstützung vor. Interdisziplinäre, technische und biologische Gesichtspunkte der Untersuchung werden diskutiert. Aufgrund der Literatur und eigener Erfahrungen wird insbesondere auf die Punktionsindikation bei ausgewählten Organen und Tumoren und auf spezielle diagnostische Probleme näher eingegangen. Für zuverlässige diagnostische Resultate entscheidend sind Punktionstechnik, Erfahrung in bildgebend gesteuerter Intervention, die Qualität des Aspirats und der zytologischen Ausstriche, die diagnostische Erfahrung des Zytopathologen sowie der breite Einsatz geeigneter Zusatzanalysen wie Immunzytochemie und Molekulargenetik. Indikationen und Vorteile der flüssigkeitsbasierten Asservierung des Zellaspirats werden präsentiert.
