Dysphagia in an Infant

An 11-month-old girl presented to the ENT OPD with increasing dysphagia and failure to thrive. Since birth, child had difficulty in latching and breastfeeding. She was given milk by spoon. As she grew older, she had difficulty in chewing solids. She preferred mashed food; however, total intake was always poor. Her weight was 6.8 kg at time of presentation. Blood investigations indicated iron deficiency anaemia, with haemoglobin 7.2 g/dL. There was history of swelling in the floor of mouth since birth. There was no history of difficulty in breathing. She was born to a full term, uneventful pregnancy, during which the prenatal ultrasonography did not reveal any anatomical abnormalities. On examination, there was a symmetrical submucosal swelling in the floor of the mouth (Fig. 1). The tongue was displaced posteriorly and superiorly. Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance images of the patient are shown in Fig. 2. The patient underwent intraoral excision of the mass under general anaesthesia and the histopathology images are shown in Fig. 3. What is the diagnosis?
