A 7-year-old boy presented with generalized pruritic skin lesions persisting since earliest childhood. Clinical examination revealed erythematous, somewhat hyperpigmented, patches mainly on the chest and back (figure 1). The boy was otherwise healthy. In particular, the patient and the patient’s parents did not report the appearance of any systemic manifestations of the disease, such as recurrent flush symptoms, diarrhea with abdominal pain, bone pain, or headaches.
