Neurogastroenterologische Erkrankungen und Störungen der Darm-Hirn-Achse beim geriatrischen Patienten

Zusammenfassung

Neurogastroenterologische Erkrankungen („Motilitätsstörungen“) und Störungen der Darm-Hirn-Achse („funktionelle Erkrankungen“) kommen auch beim älteren Menschen häufig vor und können durch eine differenzierte Neurodegeneration im Verdauungstrakt bzw. durch im Alter häufiger vorkommenden Begleiterkrankungen begründet sein. Sie erzeugen einen hohen Leidensdruck, Inappetenz (u. a. Dysphagie) bzw. soziale Isolation (z. B. Inkontinenz) und eine hohe sozioökonomische Belastung. Eine ausführliche Anamnese, u. a. zur Medikamenteneinnahme, und eine Basisuntersuchung, u. a. mit Probetrunk und rektaler Austastung, sind beim geriatrischen Patienten häufig ausreichend. Eine differenzierte weiterführende Diagnostik kann hilfreich sein und sollte individuell eingesetzt werden. Wie die Diagnostik unterscheidet sich die Therapie nicht grundsätzlich von jüngeren Patienten.
