Tannebaum’s paper (
2008) reports a small-scale study of health information-seeking among clients of community mental health services. In the tradition of well-conducted qualitative research, this paper is descriptive in orientation and modest in scope. Data are collected from only two locations, which certainly restricts external validity. The study raises as many questions as it answers. That said, it offers some fresh new perspectives for thinking about the domains of client information-seeking and subsequent decision-making.
