23. Komplementäre Therapien bei chronisch entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen

Zusammenfassung

Die Komplementärmedizin bietet vielfältige Ansätze zur Ergänzung der Standardbehandlung chronisch entzündlicher Darmerkrankungen. Die Naturheilkunde und auch die Mind-Body-Medizin sind Beispiele für komplementäre Medizin. Sie haben eine salutogenetische Ausrichtung – die Förderung von Gesundheit und Selbsthilfe – inne. Demgegenüber steht die pathogenetische Sichtweise – Krankheiten zu kurieren oder zu behandeln – der sogenannten „Schulmedizin“. Die Kombination patho- und salutogenetischer Verfahren ermöglicht eine ganzheitliche Betrachtung des Erkrankungsgeschehen, welche die beiden Behandlungsansätze für sich alleine genommen nicht leisten können. Werden konventionelle und komplementäre Verfahren zu einem sinnvollen Gesamtkonzept vereint, spricht man heute von integrativer Medizin.
Patienten mit chronisch entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen fragen komplementäre Therapieverfahren stark nach und informieren sich ggfs. auch ohne Unterstützung ihres behandelnden Arztes über die ergänzenden Therapieverfahren. Um der Gefahr unseriöser Beratung und dubioser Therapieverfahren durch ungeschultes und/oder nicht-medizinisches Personal entgegen zu wirken, sollten sich Ärzte entsprechend der Empfehlungen in den aktuellen S3-Leitlinien für M. Crohn und für Colitis ulcerosa über komplementäre Behandlungsmöglichkeiten informieren und ihren Patienten dafür gegenüber eine offene Haltung zeigen.
