Zusammenfassung

Die Mitteilung der Diagnose Epilepsie und der Notwendigkeit einer langjährigen medikamentösen Therapie bedeutet für den Betroffenen und seine Familie ein einschneidendes Ereignis. Man muss sich vor Augen halten, dass die Eltern und die schon etwas älteren Patienten mit einem Begriff konfrontiert werden, mit dem sie keine genauen Vorstellungen verbinden; und wenn, dann überwiegend falsche, d. h. Schrecken und Angst erregende.
