Zusammenfassung

Die konfokale Laser-Scanning-Mikroskopie ist ein vielseitig genutztes Werkzeug in der medizinischen Forschung und ermöglicht insbesondere die nichtinvasive In-vivo-Darstellung des subbasalen Nervenplexus (SNP) der Kornea. Die vorliegende Arbeit hat zum Ziel, eine strukturierte Übersicht zu Möglichkeiten der Detektion und Quantifizierung von Nervenfasern des subbasalen Nervenplexus in konfokalmikroskopischen Aufnahmen zu geben. Hierfür notwendige Schritte werden erläutert, und es werden mögliche Einflussfaktoren auf die Qualität der Ergebnisse aufgezeigt. Die aus der Struktur des SNP gewonnenen Informationen können potenziell als klinische Parameter im Rahmen von Diagnostik und Therapie der diabetischen Neuropathie Anwendung finden.
