Zusammenfassung

60 % der Tabakabhängigen beschreiben sich als dissonante Raucher. Sie versuchen dauernd oder zeitweilig, das Rauchverhalten zu reduzieren oder auch aufzuhören. Sie wissen sehr genau, dass ihr Rauchen zu Folgekrankheiten führt. Sie kennen meist ihre Entzugssymptome, aber die echte Motivation, Hilfe von außen zu suchen, benötigt in dieser Gruppe oft noch einen Anstoß durch die soziale Situation (Partner, Arbeitssituation usw.) oder durch körperliche Symptome (Atemnot bei Belastung, Magenschmerzen, Schwangerschaft usw.). Wenn diese Gruppe einen Therapeuten aufsucht, wissen diese dissonanten Raucher, dass sie ein gewisses Abhängigkeitsproblem haben. Bei einer wirksamen Hilfe sind sie meist leicht zu motivieren, das Rauchverhalten zu reduzieren oder sogar einzustellen (Kunze et al. 2009; Balfour et al. 2000).
