Hispanics/Latinos are the largest ethnic minority in the USA (surpassing African American and representing around 16% of the population) and are disproportionally affected by obesity.
1,2 Among obese patients, those undergoing bariatric surgery have lower all-cause mortality at 5 years and up to 10 years following the procedure, as compared to those who do not have surgery.
