Probiotika in der Kindergastroenterologie

Prävention und Therapie gastrointestinaler Krankheiten und Funktionsstörungen

Zusammenfassung

Probiotika werden im Kindesalter zur Prävention und Therapie unterschiedlicher Krankheiten, Ernährungs- und funktioneller Störungen eingesetzt. In zunehmendem Maß erfolgt dies auf der Basis evidenzbasierter Daten. Die Bewertung der Probiotika muss die Speziesspezifität, den Applikationszeitpunkt, die Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehung und den Wirkungsnachweis in randomisierten kontrollierten Studien (RCT) einschließen. Zur Prävention der nekrotisierenden Enterokolitis (NEC), zur Prävention und Therapie der akuten viralen Gastroenteritis und – in begrenztem Rahmen – auch zur Remissionsinduktion und -erhaltung der Colitis ulcerosa existiert eine inzwischen gesicherte Datenlage, die den klinischen Einsatz definierter probiotischer Bakterien rechtfertigen lässt.
