We appreciate the opportunity to respond to correspondence related to our article “Severe rhabdomyolysis secondary to COVID-19 mRNA vaccine” [
1]. Finsterer and Scorza assert that we missed three cases of rhabdomyolysis associated with COVID-19 vaccination. One case, Gelbenegger et al., was not due to mRNA vaccination, and, in fact, we discussed and cited rhabdomyolysis events after a viral vector COVID-19 vaccination in our paper [
2]. The other two pediatric cases were Sutcu et al. which was published July 1, 2022, and Kim et al. which was published in 2023 [

4]. Further, as we stated in our article, we queried the vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS) on June 22, 2022. We did not include cases after June 2022, as our article was completed prior to this date. With the adult cases, again the ones unrelated to mRNA vaccines were not included. This leaves one, Unger et al., published May 3, 2022, which we did indeed miss [
