Abstract
Surgical management of duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) remains challenging due to the anatomical complexity of the region. While pancreaticoduodenectomy is considered standard, it is associated with significant morbidity, mortality, and life-long metabolic consequences. Herein, we present a case where segmental resection was performed for a distal second portion of duodenum GIST using a Fogarty catheter to identify and protect the ampulla during transection. This technique allowed safe, function-preserving surgery.
