In September of 2004, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) approved updated Standards for Commercial Support, to which all ACCME-accredited organizations are expected to adhere [
4]. These standards have resulted from the increasing role of industry in supporting continuing medical educational (CME) activities in the United States [
