Strahlentherapeutische Interventionen bei onkologischen Notfällen

Zusammenfassung

Die Strahlentherapie ist ein fester Bestandteil der interdisziplinären Behandlung in onkologischen Notfallsituationen. Sie kommt vorwiegend bei spinalem Kompressionssyndrom, Hirndrucksteigerung durch Hirnmetastasen und oberer Einflussstauung zum Einsatz. Bei spinaler Kompression können die besten Ergebnisse mittels Chirurgie und Bestrahlung erreicht werden. Bei der oberen Einflussstauung ist die Sequenz aus Chemotherapie und Radiotherapie das effektivste Verfahren. Intrakranialer Druck sollte rasch gesenkt werden, um den Einsatz der kausalen Therapieverfahren zu ermöglichen.

Ein hoher Anteil pflanzlicher Nahrung trägt möglicherweise dazu bei, das Progressionsrisiko von Männern mit Prostatakarzinomen zu senken. In einer US-Studie war das Risiko bei ausgeprägter pflanzlicher Ernährung in etwa halbiert.
