We read with great interest the recently published article by Chelala et al. [
4] on the suturing concept for laparoscopic mesh fixation. The method includes opposition of the defect’s margins with single stitches. Twelve threads are placed along the margin of a prosthetic mesh patch, which is introduced intraabdominally and oriented. The threads are then retrieved transabdominally with a suture passer and tied over the external oblique aponeurosis [

4]. The six recurrences detected to date presumably resulted from technical problems including fascial nonclosure, small mesh size, and failure to overlap the pubic bone [
