Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are the most frequent mesenchymal tumors of the digestive tract.
1 Most commonly found in the stomach (56%), they could however be found in the small intestines (32%) and colon or rectum (6%) (1). They are frequently incidentally found during imaging for other pathologies. A complete surgical resection remains the mainstay treatment, resulting in favorable oncological outcomes. An endoscopic resection of small GIST lesions, in experienced centers, has also been described in the literature.
