Das akute Nierenversagen (ANV) und die chronische Nierenkrankheit („chronic kidney disease“, CKD) stellen eine zunehmende, globale Herausforderung für die Gesundheitssysteme dar und werden als wachsendes Versorgungsproblem eingeschätzt [1]. Nephrologische Patienten weisen durch ihre Vielzahl an Komorbiditäten, häufige Polypharmazie und dadurch überdurchschnittlich häufige Arztkonsultationen eine hohe Komplexität auf [2]. Die hohe Belastung dieser Patienten durch eine Vielzahl an Interaktionen im Gesundheitswesen steht dabei zugleich dem Wunsch gegenüber, erwerbstätig zu bleiben und möglichst wenig Zeit im Krankenhaus zu verbringen. Die Telemedizin stellt dabei eine Möglichkeit dar, diese Positionen zu verbinden. Dieser Artikel möchte einen Überblick über aktuelle Evidenz und Nutzung der Telemedizin in den verschiedenen Bereichen der Nephrologie geben. …

Ob bei einer Notfalloperation nach Schenkelhalsfraktur eine Hemiarthroplastik oder eine totale Endoprothese (TEP) eingebaut wird, sollte nicht allein vom Alter der Patientinnen und Patienten abhängen. Auch über 90-Jährige können von der TEP profitieren.

Bei schweren Reaktionen auf Insektenstiche empfiehlt sich eine spezifische Immuntherapie

Insektenstiche sind bei Erwachsenen die häufigsten Auslöser einer Anaphylaxie. Einen wirksamen Schutz vor schweren anaphylaktischen Reaktionen bietet die allergenspezifische Immuntherapie. Jedoch kommt sie noch viel zu selten zum Einsatz.
