In the Renaissance, anatomical science was a major source of inspiration for artists. By the fifteenth century, interest had emerged in anatomy as an area of research and the artists of the period dissected cadavers. Artists performed dissections to reproduce beauty accurately, whereas the anatomists’ goal was to gain scientific knowledge [3].
