Zusammenfassung

Myome (im klinischen englischen Sprachgebrauch „fibroids“) sind gutartige mesenchymale Tumoren des Myometriums. Aus der Erkenntnis heraus, dass der Sitz eines Myoms ganz erheblich zu seiner klinischen Relevanz beiträgt, hat die FIGO die Nomenklatur von Wamsteker im Hinblick auf intramurale, subseröse und gestielte Myome erweitert.
