Wann ist der optimale Zeitpunkt für ein sonographisches Hüftscreening?

Zusammenfassung

Der optimale Zeitpunkt für das Säuglingshüftscreening ist dann gegeben, wenn alle pathologischen Hüften entdeckt werden können, die natürliche Ausreifung primär unreifer Hüften erfolgt ist und der Therapiebeginn zu einem Zeitpunkt erfolgt, der gewährleistet, dass bei pathologischen Hüftgelenken zu einem maximalen Prozentsatz eine anatomische Ausheilung erzielt wird.

Wenngleich optimalerweise jeder Säugling 2-mal (in den ersten Lebenstagen nach der Geburt und im Alter von 4–6 Wochen) geschallt werden sollte, zeigt auch jene Organisationsform des Hüftsonoscreenings, bei der unmittelbar nach der Geburt nur diejenigen Neugeborenen geschallt werden, die bei der klinischen Untersuchung anfällig sind und/oder Risikofaktoren wie Steißlage oder genetische Belastung aufweisen und bei der das generelle Hüftsonoscreening in der 4. bis 6. Lebenswoche erfolgt, gleich gute Ergebnisse.
