A 16-year-old male patient was admitted with complaints of high fever that started 6 days before admission, darkening of urine for the last 3 days, and yellowish skin. His past medical history was remarkable for intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) usage between the ages of 2 and 3 for suspected infantile transient hypogammaglobulinemia. He had growth retardation and was diagnosed with hypopituitarism and osteoporosis, and used somatostatin at the age of 7. He was being followed up for hepatosplenomegaly and high ferritin levels (500–750 ng/ml) without any specific diagnosis. Liver biopsy performed at the age of 9 was normal. His parents were first degree cousins. …
