Biliopancreatic diversion (BPD), a limited gastrectomy consisting of connecting the pouch directly to the final small intestine, is considered to be a safe and successful procedure for the treatment of morbid obesity. However, it involves a considerably higher risk of nutritional deficiencies than other bariatric procedures [

6]. As many women being submitted to BPD are of childbearing age, pregnancy frequently occurs afterwards. Although weight loss has beneficial effects on the outcome of the subsequent pregnancy, several reports suggest a link between maternal deficiencies and fetal developmental or neonatal complications [
