Those of us working in the field area of adult neurogenetics are constantly faced with individual and family tragedy, ethical dilemmas, and often great frustration at the lack of resources and hope for our patients and their families. Yet at the same time, we remain in this specialty because the diseases and their mechanisms are fascinating and our patients amaze us with their strength and courage.
