Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood mental health disorders, affecting 4–12% of school age children.
1 Racial and ethnic disparities in ADHD care exist in that minority children are less likely to be identified and treated for ADHD than Caucasian children.

4 For example, in one study examining children diagnosed with ADHD, 76% of Caucasian children were reported to take medication, compared to 56% of African-American children and 53% of Latino children.
