A 78-year-old woman was admitted to another hospital with a fever lasting for 2 weeks. The patient was administered tazobactam/piperacillin for treatment of a suspected urinary tract infection. However, she continued to have a low-grade fever for 10 days. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) indicated suspected vegetation of the mitral valve, and she was transferred to our hospital. …
