Effekte von Resveratrol am Augenhintergrund

Zusammenfassung

Resveratrol ist ein Polyphenol mit diversen Eigenschaften. Onkologische Untersuchungen zeigten eine hervorragende antikarzinogene Wirkung. Aufgrund zahlreicher Überschneidungen der tumorvermittelnden Signale mit solchen in neovaskulären und proliferativen Netzhauterkrankungen sollen in dieser Übersicht allgemeine Signalwege und Ergebnisse der Anwendung von Resveratrol am Augenhintergrund in vitro und in vivo dargestellt werden. Resveratrol ist in Zellkulturmodellen und Tiermodellen bereits gut untersucht. Ophthalmologische In-vitro- und In-vivo-Studien zeigen ein breites Wirkspektrum ohne toxische Nebenwirkungen. Vor allem antiproliferative und immunmodulatorische Effekte wurden nachgewiesen. Einigkeit besteht über ein zentrales Zielprotein von Resveratrol, das NF-κB. Klinische Untersuchungen müssen folgen, um diese in Zellkultur- und Tiermodellen bestimmten Effekte zu verifizieren. Der genaue Wirkmechanismus von Resveratrol ist noch nicht bekannt und scheint zwischen Zellen, Geweben und dem pathophysiologischen Milieu zu variieren.
