A 65-year-old male with jaundice and epigastric pain underwent abdominal CT scan which showed a 4-cm pancreatic head mass, with enlargement of mesenterial lymph nodes and multiple peritoneal lumps. Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) was performed, and the cytologic picture showed an adenocarcinoma. A colonoscopy demonstrated a stenosing and ulcerated neoplasm at the transverse colon, and a bioptic specimen showed a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. Due to the increase of abdominal pain associated with intestinal occlusion, the patient underwent right hemicolectomy in order to canalize the large bowel. The patient was discharged from the hospital 18 days after surgery and due to the worsening clinical picture, he died after 1 month. …
