In recent times, there has been a trend towards minimally invasive surgery. Laparoscopic technique is now almost considered an excellent alternative to open surgery. Laparoscopic simple closure for perforated peptic ulcer has been a safe but not effective surgery in the past, and open approaches with definitive acid-reduction procedures are preferred. Due to the correlation of
Helicobacter pylori (
H. pylori) with peptic ulcer, simple closure combined with eradication of
H. pylori has now become an effective treatment for perforated peptic ulcer [
