Case: 62 year old man sustained a left clavicular fracture while trimming bushes with hedge clippers (Fig. 1). Past medical history included multiple fractures including a mandibular fracture complicated by osteomyelitis. Bone mineral density was obtained to evaluate for osteoporosis (Fig. 2). A skeletal survey was subsequently performed to investigate the cause of dense bones (Figs. 3, 4, 5 and 6). The skeletal survey was compared to a computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen and pelvis performed three years prior (Fig. 7).
