Zusammenfassung

Trauer ist eine natürliche Reaktion auf den Verlust einer nahestehenden Person, deren Intensität bei den meisten Hinterbliebenen mit der Zeit nachlässt. Circa 3–4 % der Hinterbliebenen entwickeln jedoch eine anhaltende Trauerstörung (ATS), die durch Sehnsucht nach der verstorbenen Person, intensiven emotionalen Schmerz und signifikante Beeinträchtigungen in wichtigen Funktionsbereichen charakterisiert ist. Die ATS wurde in die 11. Version der internationalen statistischen Klassifikation der Krankheiten und verwandter Gesundheitsprobleme (ICD-11) und die 5. Auflage des Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – Text Revision (DSM-5-TR) aufgenommen. Differenzialdiagnostisch ist die ATS von anderen psychischen Störungen abgrenzbar. Symptomüberschneidungen finden sich v. a. zu Depression und posttraumatischer Belastungsstörung. Neben den Diagnosekriterien und der Differenzialdiagnostik werden im Folgenden Prävalenzraten, Komorbiditäten, Risikofaktoren und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten der ATS vorgestellt.
