„Time is testis“ – diese bekannte Maxime bestätigt eine aktuelle US-amerikanische Studie zur pädiatrischen Hodentorsion. Entscheidend ist dabei weniger die gesamte Symptomdauer als vielmehr die Zeitspanne zwischen Eintreffen in der Notaufnahme und operativer Detorsion.

Machen 5-Alpha-Reduktase-Hemmer die TURP sicherer?

Ergebnisse einer Metaanalyse sprechen dafür, dass eine adjuvante präoperative Behandlung mit 5-Alpha-Reduktase-Inhibitoren bei Männern mit benigner Prostatahyperplasie zu einem geringeren Blutverlust während einer transurethralen Prostataresektion (TURP) beitragen kann.

AKT-Blocker verlängert PFS bei PTEN-defizientem mHSPC

Eine Zusatztherapie mit Capivasertib kann das radiologisch bestimmte progressionsfreie Überleben von Männern mit metastasiertem hormonsensitivem Prostatakarzinom deutlich verlängern. Im Vergleich zu Placebo wurde in einer Phase-3-Studie ein Vorteil von 7,5 Monaten erzielt.
