In the current literature it is commonly reported that neurally mediated syncope (NMS) is unique to humans, and this is largely accepted in the scientific community. In this regard, there are no convincing reports of transient loss of consciousness (TLoC) during the vasovagal reflex in animals. However, the results of very recent studies suggest that NMS can occur in animals. …
