Sir: We read the report by Nygren and colleagues describing the effects of norepinephrine alone and norepinephrine plus dopamine on human intestinal mucosal perfusion with great interest [
1]. In their report, the authors claim that vasopressor therapy after cardiac surgery does not influence intestinal perfusion. They are to be congratulated for their effort in establishing intestinal mucosal perfusion after cardiac surgery and restoration of normovolemia. …
