Kniegelenkschmerzen bei Arthrosezeichen

Zusammenfassung

Chronische Kniegelenkschmerzen entstehen insbesondere bei älteren Patienten häufig auf dem Boden einer Arthrose, können aber auch auf andere Ursachen zurückzuführen sein, wie beispielsweise einer rheumatoiden Arthritis. Zur Diagnose gehört eine genaue Anamnese mit klinischer Untersuchung, die meist schon deutliche Hinweise auf die Schmerzursache gibt. Erst anschließend sollte eine weitere Diagnostik erwogen werden, beispielsweise in Form von bildgebenden Verfahren oder Laboruntersuchungen. Die Therapie richtet sich nach der Ursache und dem jeweiligen Patienten. Sie zielt auf eine Schmerzreduktion und den Erhalt der Gelenkbeweglichkeit ab. Eine adäquate Schmerzmedikation, Physiotherapie sowie alternative Therapieverfahren werden angewendet, meist in Kombination. Eine Korrekturosteotomie kann hilfreich sein, ein partieller oder totaler Gelenkersatz sollte jedoch erst nach Ausschöpfen der konservativen Therapiemöglichkeiten erfolgen.
