Komplementäre und ergänzende Verfahren in der Kopfschmerztherapie

Zusammenfassung

In Deutschland gehören Kopfschmerzen zu den Erkrankungen, die am häufigsten zu gesundheitlichen Einschränkungen und zum Arztbesuch führen. Auch bei Kindern sind Kopfschmerzen häufig mit Alltagseinschränkungen verbunden. Trotzdem steht der Versorgungsgrad für Kopfschmerzerkrankungen in keinem Verhältnis zum medizinischen Bedarf. Auch deshalb werden von Patienten regelmäßig komplementäre und unterstützende Therapieverfahren genutzt. Die vorliegende Übersicht zeigt für primäre Kopfschmerzen im Kindes- und Erwachsenenalter aktuell genutzte Verfahren, deren methodischen Ansatz und vorhandene wissenschaftliche Evidenz. Auch wird die Sicherheit der Therapiemöglichkeiten eingeordnet. Zu den Verfahren zählen Physiotherapie, Neuraltherapie, Akupunktur, Homöopathie, Phytotherapie und die Einnahme von Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln. Für Kinder und Jugendliche mit Kopfschmerzen gibt es im Bereich der Nahrungsergänzungsmittel für Coenzym Q₁₀, Riboflavin, Magnesium und Vitamin D Untersuchungen, die auf spezifische Effekte in der Kopfschmerzreduktion hinweisen.
