Therapeutische Hypothermie

Zusammenfassung

Nach Herz-Kreislauf-Stillstand konnte durch den Einsatz der therapeutischen Hypothermie eine Verbesserung von Überleben und neurologischem Ergebnis gezeigt werden. Auch Patienten nach Schädel-Hirn-Trauma oder ischämischem Schlaganfall könnten von der therapeutischen Hypothermie profitieren. Ihre Induktion gelingt durch verschiedene Verfahren wie die Oberflächenkühlung, kalte Infusionen oder endovaskuläre Kühlkatheter. Mögliche Nebenwirkungen umfassen insbesondere Infektionen und Blutungen sowie Veränderungen des Wasser- und Elektrolythaushalts. Ziel dieses Artikels ist es, einen Überblick über die aktuelle Studienlage zu vermitteln sowie praktische Anleitung zum Einsatz der therapeutischen Hypothermie zu geben.
