Eine quasi-systematische Übersicht klinischer Studien

Die chinesische Manualtherapie Tuina ist fester Bestandteil des fünfgliedrigen Therapiekanons der Traditionellen Chinesischen Medizin. Im Gegensatz zu prominent untersuchten Behandlungsverfahren wie Akupunktur oder Phytotherapie ist die wissenschaftliche Evidenzlage jedoch um ein Vielfaches kleiner. Eine Diskussion im wissenschaftlichen Kontext findet kaum statt. Damit ergeht es der Tuina wie vielen manuellen Techniken. Die Eingabe als Stichwort in der medizinwissenschaftlichen Datenbank pubmed.​gov erbringt beispielsweise weniger als 1000 Treffer, „manuelle Therapie“ ergibt knapp 3500 Treffer, das übergreifende Stichwort „Massage“ liegt bei unter 14.000 Treffern. In Relation zu Betablockern (93.000 Treffer), Acetylsalicylsäure (69.000 Treffer) oder Akupunktur (ca. 32.000 Treffer) sind das kleine Zahlen. …
