The American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) recognizes lymphedema as a significant side effect of breast cancer treatment. Therefore, the ASBrS convened an international, multidisciplinary expert panel to review current data and guidelines on all aspects of lymphedema diagnosis and management to acknowledge the gravity of this public health issue facing breast cancer survivors. The Panel sought to collate clear and meaningful recommendations for providers regarding lymphedema diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Diagnosis, education, and future directions were discussed in Part 1. Part 2 focuses on prevention and treatment. …

S3-Leitlinie „Diagnostik und Therapie des Karpaltunnelsyndroms“

Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom ist die häufigste Kompressionsneuropathie peripherer Nerven. Obwohl die Anamnese mit dem nächtlichen Einschlafen der Hand (Brachialgia parästhetica nocturna) sehr typisch ist, ist eine klinisch-neurologische Untersuchung und Elektroneurografie in manchen Fällen auch eine Neurosonografie erforderlich. Im Anfangsstadium sind konservative Maßnahmen (Handgelenksschiene, Ergotherapie) empfehlenswert. Bei nicht Ansprechen der konservativen Therapie oder Auftreten von neurologischen Ausfällen ist eine Dekompression des N. medianus am Karpaltunnel indiziert.
