Zusammenfassung

In der Tumornachsorge wird der Therapieerfolg durch regelmäßige und standardisierte Untersuchungen kontrolliert. Die Nachsorge erfüllt darüber hinausgehend noch weitere wichtige Aufgaben. Daher gelten regelmäßige Nachsorgeuntersuchungen als für jüngere Patienten genauso wichtig wie für ältere onkologische Patienten. Die Situation älterer Patienten ist im Vergleich zu jungen Patienten mit Krebserkrankungen durch eine Reihe von Besonderheiten geprägt, hierzu zählen u. a. tumorbiologische Unterschiede, somatische Unterschiede (reduzierte Restlebenserwartung, häufigeres Vorliegen von Komorbiditäten mit der Notwendigkeit von Begleittherapien) und Unterschiede im psychosozialen Bereich. Diese Besonderheiten beim geriatrisch-onkologischen Patienten müssen nicht nur in der Primärtherapie sondern auch bei der Nachsorge berücksichtigt werden.
