Onkologische Chirurgie bei alten Patienten
Im hohen Alter können Behandlungsleitlinien nicht immer in vollem Umfang eingesetzt werden, da die physiologischen Voraussetzungen des alten Menschen, sein soziales Unterstützungssystem, seine Wünsche und Erwartungen an die verbleibende Lebenszeit dies nicht mehr erlauben. Auf der Suche nach anderen Möglichkeiten das physiologische Alter bzw. die Belastbarkeit des alten Menschen zu bewerten, wurden in der Onkologie in jüngerer Zeit das Konzept der Frailty bzw. Methoden des geriatrischen Assessments genutzt. Ihre Vorteile, aber auch ihre Grenzen, sollen dargestellt werden.
