Zusammenfassung

Die nichtinvasive Beatmung (NIV) ist als fester Bestandteil der intensivmedizinischen Therapie bei respiratorischer Insuffizienz etabliert. Sie geht jedoch mit Einschränkungen der Patientenautonomie und des Komforts einher. Ein erfolgreicher Therapieverlauf ist maßgeblich von der Akzeptanz und Adhärenz der betroffenen Patienten abhängig. Intensivpflegende können dabei durch eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem subjektiven Erleben der Patienten und einen engen Kontakt zu den Betroffenen wesentlichen Einfluss auf das Gelingen nehmen. Voraussetzung dafür ist die profunde Kenntnis der unterschiedlichen technischen Aspekte von Therapie und Equipment sowie positiver und negativer Einflussfaktoren auf die NIV-Toleranz, um eine individuelle Intervention anbieten und durchführen zu können.
