Fällt ein Bluttest auf pTau im Alter von 60 Jahren positiv aus, blieben noch rund 21 Jahre bis zum Beginn einer Demenz. 70-Jährige haben noch 17 Jahre Zeit, 90-Jährige nur noch 5 Jahre. Darauf deuten Modellrechnungen basierend auf kontinuierlich erhobenen Blutuntersuchungen.

Fortschritt in der Schlaganfall-Sekundärprävention

Nach längerer Zeit gibt es wieder einen Fortschritt in der Sekundärprävention des ischämischen Schlaganfalls. Mit dem Faktor XIa-Hemmer Asundexian gelang in der Phase-3-Studie OCEANIC-STROKE eine Risikoreduktion für Schlaganfallrezidive, ohne Anstieg von Blutungskomplikationen.
